Troubleshooting orders receiving processing errors
Sections
Issue
If your recurring charges are receiving processing errors that indicates that there is an issue with the payment processor or the ecommerce platform.
Some examples include:
- Issue processing order
- There was a problem processing your order
- Could not process
- Error triggering processing
Environment
This issue may appear on all platforms but is most common for merchants using PayPal Express and/or Braintree to process their orders.
Click Orders and select Charge errors to view charge errors in the merchant portal.
Resolution
Processor errors will be automatically retried by the automatic retry settings. Most often these errors are caused by a timeout issue with the ecommerce platform or payment processors API and retrying the charge will resolve the error.
If the automatic retry does not resolve the error, you can process a manual retry outside of the automatic retry cycle. Since this is separate from the batch processing system this may resolve the error.
If the error persists, contact the Recharge Support team who will review the error and investigate further.
