ReCharge is rolling out a new customer portal called Prima, the second Themes Customer Portal alongside the Novum theme. Prima is a lite, clean theme that allows your customers to easily access and modify all aspects of their subscription.
Eligibility and status
-
Prima is available for all merchants using the Shopify Checkout, and is now the default customer portal. If you are still using the legacy customer portal, you can switch to Prima at your own leisure through Settings > Customer Portal.
- We are currently in an open beta for merchants on the ReCharge Checkout.
- Merchants using ReCharge Quick Actions cannot use Prima as the theme is not compatible with the feature at this time.
Before you start
The Themes Customer Portal requires custom CSS code to match the font, color, and style of your Shopify theme. Custom CSS is not supported by ReCharge Support as per our design policy. If you require further assistance, please visit the ReCharge Partner Directory.
Limitations
- Translations for Prima are not currently available, but coming soon.
- One time product upsells are not currently available for merchants using the Shopify Checkout.
- ReCharge Quick Actions are not available for use with Prima at this time.
Highlights of the new Prima theme on the Themes Customer Portal
New Home page
The new Prima theme provides the customer with a quick summary of their account, including the next upcoming order and the most recent order.
Separated Edit order and Edit subscription pages
Two updated pages allow your customers to drill down and modify all details of a specific product of a subscription, or allow them to edit the entire order, affecting all products in it.
Grouping per date
We've reorganized the Upcoming orders tab so all subscription items set to be delivered on the same date are now grouped in the same subscription card if they were purchased together, or in the same column separated by address if they have different shipping addresses.
Previewing themes
You can preview the current Prima theme to see what it will look like on your Customer Portal.
- In the ReCharge Dashboard, click the wrench icon.
- Select Customer portal.
- Under Customer portal location select Themes, Prima.
- Click on Preview theme.
Enable the new Prima Customer Portal
After you preview the Prima theme, you can enable it for your store on the same page.
- In the ReCharge Dashboard, click the wrench icon.
- Select Customer portal.
- Under Customer portal location select Themes.
- Select Prima.
- Scroll to the bottom and click Save.
Customer portal location
Among the options in Settings, Customer Portal, there is a section for Customer portal location with two options.
- Embedded in platform storefront: The customer portal is embedded within your Shopify theme and takes on the styling, logo, and menu from your Shopify theme.
- Hosted by ReCharge: The customer portal is hosted by ReCharge and will not inherit any styling.
This is important for your store depending on your theme. The CSS from your Shopify theme can conflict with the customer portal code and switching to hosted will resolve this. If you notice an issue with the CSS styling on your portal, switch to Hosted by ReCharge momentarily to see if the issue persists.
Adjust styling with the theme CSS
You can edit the theme's CSS styling manually to create a unified, seamless experience between store and Customer Portal.
- In the ReCharge Dashboard, click the wrench icon.
- Select Customer portal.
- Add your custom code to Header HTML/CSS/JS, Footer HTML/CSS/JS, or Credit card page CSS in Customize styles.
- Scroll to the bottom and click Save.
