Updating product rules in bulk
You can perform bulk updates to make changes to multiple subscription products at once. These updates include removing products from Recharge, updating subscription settings, or applying discounts on up to 100 products at a time. This guide provides instructions on how to perform these bulk updates.

Before you start
- This feature is currently limited to updating 100 products at a time.
- This feature will not update products that are in an active subscription. To update these products, visit Bulk updating subscription products and orders.
Update subscription settings
- In the merchant portal, click Products and select Products in the drop-down.
- Click the checkbox next to Product to select the full list of products (a maximum of 100 will be selected at a time) or click the checkboxes next to the specific products that you want to update.
- With the products selected, click Update subscription settings and select Subscription type & order schedule to update the subscription type, order schedule, and other subscription settings for the selected products.
Update discounts
- In the merchant portal, click Products and select Products in the drop-down.
- Click the checkbox next to Product to select the full list of products (a maximum of 100 will be selected at a time) or click the checkboxes next to the specific products that you want to update.
- With the products selected, click Update subscription settings and select Discount.
- If your selected products have multiple subscription types, you will be notified that only “one-time and subscription” products are able to have discounts. These products will not be updated. Click Proceed.
- Update the new discount value or choose to not offer a discount if you would like to remove the discounts from the products. Click Next.
- Confirm the update by clicking Update products.
Sync or remove products from Recharge
- In the merchant portal, click Products and select Products in the drop-down.
- Click the checkbox next to Product to select the full list of products (a maximum of 100 will be selected at a time) or click the checkboxes next to the specific products that you want to update.
- With the products selected, click More actions and then choose Sync to sync the products (only applicable to merchants using the Recharge Checkout on Shopify), or choose Remove from Recharge if you would like to delete the products from Recharge.
Product syncing
As mentioned above, only merchants using the Recharge Checkout on Shopify have the option to sync their products.
BigCommerce keeps all products up to date between BigCommerce and Recharge via webhooks for merchants using the Recharge Checkout on BigCommerce and the BigCommerce Checkout Integration. Contact the Recharge support team if you have updated a product in BigCommerce and the change is not reflected on your subscription product in Recharge.
For merchants using the BigCommerce Checkout Integration, a product's subscription rules correspond to the subscription modifier on the BigCommerce product. Updating your products in bulk updates the products' subscription modifiers via API requests. It may take up to 10 minutes for updates to process and can vary based on product volume. Contact the Recharge support team if the update is not reflected in each product's modifiers.
