Applying discounts at checkout using the BigCommerce Checkout Integration

Merchants on the BigCommerce Checkout Integration can leverage all of BigCommerce’s native discount functionality during the checkout, including coupon and automation promotions. This guide covers how to apply discount codes to subscription products during checkout.

Before you start

Discount codes must be configured in the BigCommerce admin portal to apply during checkout. Refer to Discounts and Coupons for detailed information on configuring discounts in BigCommerce. 

Apply discount codes

Customers can enter discounts while in the cart or at checkout, before the order is placed.

To add a discount code to your subscription order:

1. Add products into your cart, including the subscription product(s) applicable to the discount.

2. On the cart page or at checkout, add discount code in the Coupon Code field. Once entered, a successfully applied coupon will deduct the appropriate prices.
   

3. Complete checkout.

BigCommerce recurring discounts

BigCommerce has several different types of discounts that can be applied to an order. Only certain discounts recur, while others do not. Below is a list of the discounts and whether they get passed through to recurring orders.
