This is a list of terms you may run into when working with ReCharge.
Account Profile - In ReCharge, the Profile icon you see at the top right of your Dashboard is where you will find your account settings.
Attrition Rate/Churn Rate - The annual percentage rate at which customers stop subscribing to your service. This term is particularly relevant for subscriber-based services.
CRON Job - A method of scheduling automated processes. Such as daily e-mail notifications, stats, reports, Referral Candy...etc
Customer Portal - A section where your customers can log in and manage their subscriptions. More info here.
Dashboard - When logged into the ReCharge App, we refer to this home screen as the Dashboard.
Expiration - The number of charges before the subscription is completed.
Frequency - The rate at which the subscription is repeated over a period of time.
Fulfillment - The commerce term for the process of receiving, packaging and shipping orders for goods.
Installment - Payment due as one of several equal payments for a product, spread over an agreed period of time.
Interval - The period of time in between.
Liquid - Uses a combination of tags, objects, and filters to load dynamic content. They are used inside Liquid template files, which are a group of files that make up a theme.
Notifications - Automatic emails sent out to your customers, you can disable/edit these messages by going to Settings Notifications.
Point of Sale (POS) - Shopify is a POS system, since it just means the place at which goods or services are retailed.
Pre-Paid Order - An order that has been paid for upfront, these will have $0.00 charges for upcoming orders.
Queued Charge - A charge that has been triggered for an upcoming order.
Queued Order - An order that has been triggered to be delivered. This does not include a prepaid order.
Regression - A software bug which causes a feature to stop functioning as intended after a certain event. Such as a system upgrade, system patching or a change to daylight saving time.
Ruleset - The parameters controlling frequency and functionality of your subscriptions. These are found under the Subscriptions option at the top of your Dashboard.
Settings - In ReCharge, the 'wrench' icon you see at the top right is the settings menu.
Subscription Rule - The parameters controlling frequency and functionality of your subscriptions.
Successful Order - An order that's been successfully created and paid for in Shopify.
Toggle - A setting switch that is either on or off. Such as the Settings Notifications screen, there are toggles beside each of your automated emails.
Tracking Pixel/Conversion Pixel - A tracking pixel is simply code inserted into a custom or third-party creative that makes a server call and returns a transparent 1x1 image (normally a GIF file). With ReCharge, this would be referring to Facebook pixel tracking.
Variants - A version or variation of one of your products, be it a different color, flavor, scent or type. Often selected in a drop-down menu.
Vaulting Credit Cards - The act of storing a credit card with a third-party gateway, such as Stripe, and in turn receiving a token for it. This token can be used in the future so that any payments made are safe and secure.
