For the subscription widget to appear on your site, the Recharge team will need to install base code on your Shopify theme. This will provide the parameters needed to direct subscription products through the appropriate checkout. You can choose to install the code on your published theme or you may request the Recharge team to install it on an unpublished, duplicate theme.
Recharge Checkout on Shopify themes
The subscription widget can be easily integrated into most Shopify themes. If your theme does not appear on this list, just let us know - in most cases, we can still assist with the integration.

Shopify Checkout Integration themes
As of June 2021, all new development stores are created with Shopify's new Dawn theme as the default published theme. Our integration is not currently compatible with Dawn. To install Recharge, you must publish another supported theme, such as Debut. Merchants creating non-development stores still have Debut installed as their default published theme.
Change your Shopify theme
If you change your Shopify theme, it will override the Recharge code. This can result in the subscription widget disappearing from your product pages or subscription products processing in the Shopify Checkout rather than the Recharge Checkout on Shopify. If you need to change the theme on your store, we recommend reaching out to the team in advance to help with the Recharge code installation.
If you see the error code
Could not find asset snippets/subscription-product.liquid, it is likely that your Shopify theme has been changed. Reach out to the support team to have your Recharge code reinstalled.
Duplicate your Shopify theme
You may want to give Recharge a test drive or would like to do some work on an unpublished theme before going live. In this case, you will want to duplicate your current Shopify theme.
