What timezone does Recharge process orders in?
By default, charges are processed for recurring queued orders after midnight ET for the current day. This is standard for stores that have not set a preferred processing time.
Charges that error are automatically retried within the same day. These charges are retried at 4:00 p.m. ET unless a specific processing time is set.
Refer to the following FAQ How do I set my processing time? If you would like to set a specific time.
How do I set my processing time?
Contact the Recharge support team to set the processing time for both queued and errored orders.
Use a tool like Time Zone Converter to determine the correct time for Recharge to start processing your orders. Recharge can set the exact hour that your store orders will start processing.
Does Recharge support Amazon Pay?
No. At this time, Recharge does not support Amazon Pay.
Does Recharge support Apple Pay or Google Pay?
Recharge Checkout on Shopify or BigCommerce
Yes, Apple Pay and Google Pay are available for merchants using the Recharge Checkout on Shopify or BigCommerce, who do business in the United States and use Stripe as their payment processor. Recharge also recently introduced Apple Pay for Braintree users. Refer to the guide on setting up Apple Pay or the guide on setting up Google Pay for more information.
Shopify Checkout Integration
Yes, Apple Pay and Google Pay are available for merchants using the Shopify Checkout Integration. Refer to Shopify's eligibility requirements for more details.
Why can't I use other payment gateways?
The payment gateways available to you depend on the Recharge checkout platform your store is using.
Recharge Checkout on Shopify or BigCommerce
Currently, Recharge only supports Stripe, PayPal/Braintree, and Authorize.net, for merchants using the Recharge Checkout on Shopify and the Recharge Checkout on BigCommerce. These are the most popular gateways within our supported markets and offer our clients the best processing rates along with the most variety of products to be processed. If you have a suggestion for a gateway integration, reach out to our support team.
Shopify Checkout Integration
As per Shopify, merchants using the Shopify Checkout Integration can use Shopify Payments, PayPal Express, or Authorize.net as their payment gateway.
Does Recharge support multi-currency?
Multi-currency is partially supported by Recharge. There are ongoing efforts to develop and consolidate the multi-currency features offered by Recharge. For more information, please see our multi-currency documentation.
How can I change my billing identifier?
The billing identifier is the line that appears on your customer's credit card statement that identifies where the charge originated. In order to edit this line, please reach out to the support team of your payment processor so that they can make this update for you.
Can I change the number of failed charge retries?
Yes, this can be changed.
- Click Settings in the merchant portal and select Payment.
- Under Failed charges, select the number of times and frequency a charge should be retried.
How do I receive my payouts?
Payouts are handled by your payment processor directly, and not Recharge. For more information, reach out to your payment gateway:
Can I update my store currency?
By default, Recharge sets the currency based on your eCommerce store at the time of installation. Reach out to the Recharge support team if you need to update your store's currency.
Can I set up a subscription to process an order daily?
No. If you try to make a test order on a 1-day interval, the system will block the order as a safety precaution to avoid customers being charged daily accidentally. If you are running tests, it is recommended to put your orders in another interval (i.e. a 2-day interval).
Are orders automatically created within Shopify or BigCommerce?
Yes. Each time a subscription checkout is completed the order is sent to Shopify or BigCommerce for order fulfillment, based on the frequency determined in the subscription rule.
Can Recharge create draft orders in Shopify?
Recharge does not have the ability to create or read draft orders in Shopify, due to permissions on our Shopify App token. We have access and can create regular orders, however, draft orders are not compatible with Recharge as they are processed through Shopify directly and bypass the Recharge checkout entirely.
Recharge Checkout on Shopify or BigCommerce
Merchants using the Recharge Checkout on Shopify or BigCommerce can create customers and orders from scratch within Recharge if necessary, refer to Adding a Customer to Recharge manually.
Shopify Checkout Integration
Merchants using the Shopify Checkout Integration cannot create customers and orders manually within Recharge. This is because new subscription orders must go through the Shopify Checkout, as per Shopify's guidelines.
It is the end of the month and fewer orders processed than I expected. What's happening?
If your subscription rules are set on a monthly cadence and customers are charged on the same day they sign up, the charge schedule may shift for customers who initially ordered at the end of a month.
For example, if your customer ordered on August 31st, their next order will process on September 30th. The customer's next order will process on the 30th moving forward until the schedule encounters February or another factor impacts the schedule (such as a declined order or if the customer updates their charge date).
Can I use an accelerated checkout method on the product page?
Accelerated checkouts are exclusive to Shopify and help returning customers complete their purchases by saving payment and shipping information. Some accelerated checkouts have dynamic checkout buttons on product pages, which allow customers to skip the cart and go directly to the checkout from the product page.
Your options for using accelerated checkout methods depend on the Recharge checkout platform your store is using on Shopify, as outlined below.
Recharge Checkout on Shopify
For merchants using the Recharge Checkout on Shopify, accelerated checkout methods such as Apple Pay, Google Pay, Klarna, or Shop Pay, are not available as checkout options for subscription purchases.
Shopify Checkout Integration
For merchants using the Shopify Checkout Integration or the Migrated Shopify Checkout Integration, accelerated checkout methods such as Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Klarna are available as checkout options for subscription purchases. Klarna is not available as a checkout option for subscription purchases.
