The Recharge platform offers plenty of flexibility out of the box, but in some cases you might need to add custom functionality to a site that goes beyond basic design changes.
The Recharge Developer Documentation bridges the knowledge gap between our user Help Center and a technical audience. You can find guides and tutorials in the docs that let you build on the Recharge platform. Explore our API endpoints to understand what you can build, see detailed how-to guides for creating complex functionality for Shopify and BigCommerce, and more.
Below are some example use-cases for the documentation, and customizations you can achieve via our guides and tutorials.
Recharge widget customization
In the Dev Docs, you can find guides for complex customization beyond Recharge's built-in settings. You'll find guides that show you how to programmatically take control of widget creation to create a custom experience for users. The JS Widget Guide explains how to use Recharge client-side commands to create and inject a widget (or multiple widgets) to the page.
Some users may have very complex needs for presenting subscription information to customers. The out-of-the-box product page may not fit with a user's website branding, for example. Or, users may need to integrate Recharge with an external platform that we don't support natively. This is where docs surrounding the topic of using the Recharge API Integration are useful. Using our docs, developers can build completely custom experiences for choosing and purchasing subscriptions, and also how customers manage their subscriptions.
How it all comes together
If you're new to Recharge, you can learn through our developer documentation how each piece of the platform interacts. See the API Endpoints articles to understand how each API resource can be used on their own to build custom functionality.
